Jerusalem: As Palestinians observed their National Women’s Day on October 26, the Palestinian Prisoner Society released a poignant report highlighting the ongoing plight of those still deprived of their freedom.
According to the society, 49 Palestinian women, including two minor girls, are currently being held in Israeli detention, facing difficult conditions.
On this occasion, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement paying tribute to the resilience and sacrifices of the female prisoners.
Arab media reported that the ministry’s statement also included a staggering claim regarding the broader human cost of the conflict. “During two years of Israeli aggression, 33,000 Palestinian women and girls have been martyred,” the ministry stated.
The date of October 26 is commemorated annually to honor the steadfastness of Palestinian women and their central role in the national struggle.
