In response to the tragic death of a 14-year-old boy in Karachi, who died while in the custody of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), the Sindh Home Minister has taken decisive action. The boy, identified as Irfan, allegedly died as a result of torture during interrogation.
Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar has formally ordered the Sindh Home Secretary to initiate a full judicial inquiry into the deeply troubling incident.
The minister expressed his profound sadness over the event, stating that it was “deeply regrettable that the child died while in police custody.”
Mr. Lanjar has given clear instructions that a complete and thorough forensic investigation must be conducted. He provided assurances that justice will be served, stating, “Whoever is found to be involved in this incident will face strict action.”
He further added that modern and advanced scientific techniques will be employed to investigate the case thoroughly and bring it to a logical conclusion.
