A devastating incident has struck a family in Karachi’s Korangi area after the roof of their small house collapsed, claiming the life of a 1.5-year-old girl. Three other people, including another child and two women, sustained serious injuries in the tragic event.
The incident occurred in Zia Colony, within the limits of the Zaman Town police station. The affected family, who were tenants in the 40 to 50-yard house, was present inside the room when the disaster struck.
According to reports, a structural beam in the ceiling suddenly broke, causing the entire roof to fall onto the occupants below. Rescue teams arrived at the scene and retrieved the victims from the debris.
The toddler who tragically lost her life was identified as Aisha Mohsin. All injured individuals were immediately transported to Jinnah Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Initial information released by local police indicates that the roof of the house was in a weak and dilapidated condition. Authorities suggest that the structure allegedly collapsed because it could not support excessive weight that had been placed upon it, leading to this fatal outcome.
