Australia has secured a dominant and one-sided victory against South Africa in the ICC Women’s World Cup, driven by a phenomenal bowling performance from spinner Alana King. The South African team collapsed and was bowled out for a mere 97 runs.
In the match, played in Indore, South Africa opted to bat first, a decision that quickly proved disastrous. The batting lineup was left helpless against the exceptional bowling of Alana King. Captain Laura Wolvaardt (31 runs) and Sinalo Jafta (29 runs) were the only two batters to show some resistance, but they were unable to save their team from a low score.
Alana King delivered a career-best performance, taking a remarkable 7 wickets while conceding only 18 runs. She was supported by Ashleigh Gardner, Meghan (Schutt), and Kim Garth, who each claimed one wicket.
