A deeply tragic and disturbing incident has emerged from Maharashtra, India, highlighting a devastating end to a young doctor’s struggle against alleged abuse. A 28-year-old female doctor, who was reportedly enduring months of sexual exploitation and mental distress, has died by suicide.
Before taking her life, she wrote her final message on the palm of her hand, turning it into a chilling suicide note.
The tragic event occurred in the town of Phaltan, Satara district, where the young doctor was employed at a government hospital. She was found deceased in a hotel room on Thursday night.
According to police, the note found written on her palm alleges horrific crimes. The doctor explicitly accused a police officer, identified as Gopal Badane, of repeatedly raping her over the past five months.
The note did not stop there. The doctor also named another individual, Prashant Banker, who is the son of her landlord. She accused Banker of subjecting her to constant mental harassment and torment.
This incident has sparked outrage and sorrow within the medical community and the public. Authorities responded by moving the doctor’s body to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the accused officer, Gopal Badane, has been immediately suspended from duty. However, both suspects, Badane and Banker, have been absconding since the incident was reported and remain at large. Police state that teams are actively searching for both men.
Investigators are also conducting a forensic analysis of the handwriting on the doctor’s palm to officially confirm that the note was written by the victim herself.
