Pakistani actor and model Khakan Shahnawaz has accused globally renowned singer Atif Aslam of creative imitation. Speaking as a guest on a recent podcast, Shahnawaz claimed that Aslam’s social media posts are often not his own but are copies of other creators’ work.
Shahnawaz emphasized that the issue is not just imitation, but that Atif Aslam allegedly does so without giving any credit to the original creators.
He explained the proper etiquette for digital content creation, stating, “When someone is inspired by a creator and produces digital content, they give credit. If I am inspired by someone, I also mention it.”
“If I have copied a video scene-by-scene, I will mention the original video in the credit,” he stressed. “If I don’t do that, I shouldn’t get respect for my content.”
Khakan Shahnawaz concluded that content creators invest significant hard work to develop unique ideas, and therefore, it is essential to give them proper credit when their work is replicated.
