Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has presented a clear stance on the role of the establishment in Pakistani politics, stating that cooperation between a government and state institutions is a global reality necessary for any country to function.
Speaking to the media, he said, “No government in the world can run without the establishment.” He posed a challenge, asking, “Name one superpower nation that does not have its establishment standing behind it and is still a superpower.”
Tariq Fazal Chaudhry attributed the peace and development in Punjab to this very coordination. “Whether it is development or crime control in Punjab, the government and the establishment are working together,” he said. He also praised the global reception of the current leadership, noting, “The respect that the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal are receiving in the world right now is unprecedented in history.”
The federal minister also addressed the change of Chief Minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He clarified that the government respects the opposition’s mandate: “PTI has the province’s mandate, we accept it, and we will also play our full role for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
He specifically praised the efforts of the CCD (Crime Control Department) in eradicating crime in Punjab. He stated, “The steps the CCD has taken are historic. Gangsters who were symbols of terror have either been killed in police encounters or have fled the province. There is an atmosphere of peace in Punjab now, and crime has significantly reduced.”
