Pakistani singer, actor, and humanitarian Ali Zafar has been honoured with the prestigious “Cultural Icon Award” by the New York Police Department (NYPD) and the Pakistani American Law Enforcement Society (PALES) for his contributions to art, culture, and philanthropy.
The award was presented at PALES’ 10th Anniversary and Scholarship Awards Dinner in New York, attended by senior NYPD officials, diplomats, and prominent members of the Pakistani-American community.
Ali Zafar was recognised for his outstanding role in promoting Pakistani culture globally and for his philanthropic work through the Ali Zafar Foundation, which focuses on education, youth empowerment, and disaster relief efforts in Pakistan.
In his acceptance speech, Zafar expressed gratitude and said:
“This honour strengthens my resolve to keep working for the people of Pakistan and to represent our country’s creativity and compassion with pride.”
He added that he sees this award not just as personal recognition, but as a symbol of the soft power of Pakistani art and music, capable of connecting communities across borders.
Over the years, Zafar has used his platform to raise funds for flood victims, organise benefit concerts, and support youth-led social initiatives.
The recognition from NYPD and PALES underscores Ali Zafar’s growing global stature as a cultural ambassador, blending artistry with activism — a reminder that music, empathy, and service remain universal bridges across nations.
