NEW YORK – Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez shared a rare public appearance at the New York City premiere of their jointly-produced film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, nearly a year after their divorce was finalized. The reunion underscored a professional commitment that remains intact despite the end of their two-year marriage.
Affleck, who produced the movie through his company Artists Equity alongside Matt Damon, addressed the audience inside the theater, focusing his remarks on the film’s quality and the caliber of the team.
The Accountant actor praised the cast and the creative team, outlining his production philosophy. “My goal was to empower great artists and tell moving stories and create opportunities for these kinds of great stories to be told and work with the best directors in the world and the best actors and the best material and in this movie we did all of that and it’s an honor to be here,” he stated, according to People footage.
Affleck then publicly paid tribute to his ex-wife, telling her, “you’re incredible.”
Responding to the compliment, Lopez acknowledged his crucial role in the project’s success, stating that the movie “wouldn’t have been made without Ben and without Artists Equity.”
The film, which is based on the award-winning Broadway musical, stars Lopez in the lead role alongside Diego Luna and Tonatiuh. The event served as a high-profile example of the former couple maintaining mutual respect and professional collaboration in the wake of their separation.
