New York:
Superstar Taylor Swift’s latest studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” officially arrived on Friday, but its release was marred by unfortunate circumstances. Just hours before the official drop, some “Swifties” who received physical copies early leaked the tracks online across platforms like Discord.
The 35-year-old artist chose a subtle yet powerful way to express her dismay over the situation: she liked multiple social media videos from content creators expressing their disappointment about the leaks.
- Swift liked a reel from one creator who voiced their frustration about the early leak.
- She also liked a video by the Guyset Podcast host, who called it “f***ed” and “messed up” that other fans were “ruining it for everybody else.”
- Additionally, the “Lover” crooner liked an Instagram video by Swiftie podcaster Josh Felgoise, who strongly criticized the premature sharing of the music.
In his video, Josh Felgoise said: “Apparently Taylor Swift’s album leaked and that’s f***ed, like, there’s less than 24 hours to go until the album drops. You can’t wait a little longer? That is one thing I will never do. You will never catch me listening to a leak of an album because that’s messed up. I wanna listen to it the way it was intended.”
Felgoise went on to emphasize that the theorizing and predictions about the album’s sound are “all part of the fun.” He concluded: “Don’t ruin the fun. Don’t ruin the party. Why do people feel the need to ruin the party?“
