In a post, she wrote, “I am very upset about this blatant censorship and misuse of power. I stand with Jimmy Kimmel and I stand for freedom of speech.”
Following the significant public outrage over his suspension, ABC’s parent company, Disney, has now reinstated his show, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” with an official statement. The statement read, “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country.” It added, “This was a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive.” The statement concluded, “We have spent the last few days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those discussions, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”
