A24’s new horror movie, Bring Her Back, is scheduled to make its streaming debut on HBO Max on October 3. The film, directed by brothers Danny and Michael Philippou, opened in theaters on May 3 and earned an impressive 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The movie has already seen success at the box office, grossing $39.1 million worldwide, according to The Numbers. The Philippou brothers are well-known for their previous directorial work on the 2023 hit horror film, Talk to Me. In a recent interview with Esquire, Danny Philippou admitted to feeling the pressure to follow up their first success. “I could feel the anxiety mounting… I just had to jump into it and confront it,” he said. “There’s always the fear of the sophomore slump or being a one-hit wonder.”
