Following his much-publicized arrest last month, Lil Nas X is reportedly focusing on his health. The 26-year-old Grammy-winning rapper has checked into an inpatient treatment facility after a judge granted him permission to seek treatment out of state at a confidential location.
The decision was made during a court hearing in Los Angeles on Monday, where the singer’s lawyers appeared on his behalf. A judge modified the terms of his arrest to allow him to receive treatment. Defense lawyer Drew Findling assured the court that the musician’s health is the top priority and that he is committed to getting better and moving forward.
His bail remains set at $75,000, and his next court appearance is scheduled for November 18. The “Old Town Road” and “Montero” hitmaker faces three felony counts of battery causing injury to a police officer and one felony count of resisting arrest. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Sources close to Lil Nas X say that fame has been challenging for him, and his father has openly expressed worry about its effect on his mental health. The arrest and legal issues have also delayed his album “Dreamboy,” which was intended to follow a spring mixtape meant to build hype. Lil Nas X was arrested last month in Los Angeles after allegedly running naked through a hotel hallway and getting into a scuffle with police officers.
