Islamabad Police have reported two separate encounters, with one proclaimed offender killed and a suspect in custody injured. In the first incident, police said they received information about a proclaimed offender, wanted in three separate cases, who was hiding with his accomplices in a house in Dhoke Mohri.
The police cordoned off the house and asked the suspect to surrender. However, the suspect and his two accomplices opened fire from three different directions. After about 20 minutes, the firing stopped, and two men fled towards Charah Hills while continuing to fire. Police claimed that the proclaimed offender was killed by the firing of his own accomplices. A Kalashnikov, magazines, and crystal meth were recovered from the deceased, and his body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy.
Suspect Injured During Shootout In another encounter, a suspect in police custody was injured during a shootout with his accomplices who later escaped. Noon police had previously arrested two men in connection with a murder-cum-robbery case. During interrogation, one suspect disclosed the location of his accomplices’ hideout in an under-construction house in I-15/5.
A 13-member police team took the two suspects to the hideout. According to police, four unidentified men suddenly opened fire on the team in an attempt to free the suspects and harm the officers. During the crossfire, one suspect was shot in the back of his neck and the other in the knee. The police team remained unharmed. Three attackers managed to escape, while one was arrested and a 30-bore pistol was recovered. The injured suspects were taken to a hospital for treatment.
