Machine Gun Kelly recently opened up about his feelings when stepping into the public eye. For those who may not know, Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, was recently honored with the “Style Icon” award at the 12th Fashion Media Awards, hosted by The Daily Front Row.
He attended the event with his 16-year-old daughter, Casie Colson Baker. Speaking with PEOPLE Magazine, the 35-year-old musician admitted that she is his “backup” for nights like this. MGK also mentioned that he brought Casie along to help manage his nerves.
“I’m pretty nervous,” he began. Pointing to his daughter, he added, “That’s why I called in my backup over here.” When asked how she felt about attending the awards show with her dad, Casie responded that it was “really good.”
For those unfamiliar, MGK shares Casie with his ex, Emma Cannon. Casie said, “I’m always a big support system for him, so it’s nice.” However, she admitted that, like her father, she has not gotten used to these types of events. When asked if she was accustomed to them, she replied, “No, I’m not.” She concluded by saying, “It’s stressful.”
