Cillian Murphy has finally responded to the rumors that he will star in the upcoming Harry Potter series as Lord Voldemort. Speaking on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Oscar-winning actor directly addressed the speculation, stating, “I don’t know anything about that.”
He also expressed his respect for Ralph Fiennes, who originally played the role, acknowledging that it would be a difficult act to follow. “It’s just really hard to follow anything Ralph Fiennes does,” Murphy said. “The man is an absolute acting legend, so good luck to whoever’s gonna fill those shoes.”
Adding a lighthearted touch to his response, Murphy jokingly said he’s “very attached” to his nose, a clear reference to Voldemort’s famously noseless appearance.
Interestingly, Murphy’s comments come after Ralph Fiennes himself weighed in on the rumors. In a separate appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Fiennes praised Murphy, calling him a “fantastic actor” and a “wonderful suggestion” for the role.
