Despite significant global hype, ticket sales for the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2025 match between arch-rivals Pakistan and India have been surprisingly low, leading organizers to slash prices. The high-stakes clash is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 14, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Standard tickets, which were initially priced at 475 dirhams, have been reduced to 350 dirhams following fan complaints about the high costs. The premium seating sections have been particularly slow to sell, with many seats remaining unsold just days before the match. Organizers expressed surprise at the lower-than-expected demand for what is traditionally one of the most-watched sporting events worldwide. The slow sales have also been linked to the absence of star players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who retired from T20Is last year.
Historically, India and Pakistan have faced each other 13 times in T20 cricket, with India holding a dominant record of 10 victories compared to Pakistan’s three. Their most recent encounter was on February 23 during the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai, where India emerged victorious by six wickets.
