According to a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces killed 19 Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists—also referred to as Khwarij—during three separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on September 9 and 10.
Operation in Mohmand: 14 Terrorists Killed
Acting on intelligence reports of terrorist presence, security forces launched an operation in the Guluno area of Mohmand District. Troops effectively engaged a hideout, leading to an intense exchange of fire that resulted in the deaths of 14 terrorists. The killed militants were described as Indian-sponsored Khwarij who were actively involved in terrorist activities in the region.
Clashes in North Waziristan and Bannu
In a separate operation in Datta Khel, North Waziristan District, four more terrorists were neutralized by security forces. Meanwhile, in another encounter in Bannu District, one terrorist was killed. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from all three sites.
The ISPR added that sanitization operations are ongoing to ensure no remaining militants are present in the cleared areas. “Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to eradicate the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism and will continue to target militants involved in destabilizing the region,” the statement concluded.
