Jamie Lee Curtis gave everyone a moment to laugh during an appearance on Stephen Colbert’s show. In the “Colbert Questionert” segment, she had a particularly funny moment.
The Freaky Friday star laughed uncontrollably when the host asked her to reveal the one person she had asked for an autograph. The moment the Late Show host Stephen asked the Oscar winner who she had approached for an autograph, Jamie captivated everyone with both her answer and her hysterical delivery. “Urkel,” she answered through her continuous laughter.
She was referring to the famous nerdy character Steve Urkel, played by Jaleel White on the sitcom Family Matters, which aired from 1989 to 1998. “Why?” the host asked, to which she clarified through tears, “I was with my child.” Assuming Jamie got the autograph for her child, Stephen then asked, “Does your child still have it?” “I have it in her scrapbook,” she replied.
Stephen then dramatically switched the mood by asking the next question on his card: “What happens when we die?” Jamie replied, “I think we die… I think that’s it.” The host quipped, “The ‘Colbert Questionert’ is known for vast tonal shifts.”
It is also worth mentioning that Jamie Lee Curtis recently reprised her role from Freaky Friday for the 2025 installment of the film, Freakier Friday, alongside Lindsay Lohan, which was released on August 8, 2025.
