Mayor Murtaza Wahab announced on Friday that new Nadra counters will be established in all union councils to enhance public access to registration services.
Speaking at the inauguration of a renovated Nadra registration center at Landhi’s Babar Market, Wahab also stated that a feasibility plan would be prepared immediately for the construction of a new Nadra center at Lyari’s Kakri Ground.
He added that several mega centers are currently under development in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulberg, and Surjani Town.
The Landhi center, inaugurated by Wahab alongside Nadra Sindh Director General Amir Ali Khan, has been transformed into a modern facility with upgraded services. The number of one-window counters has been increased from four to seven to expedite applications, seating capacity has been expanded to 120, and separate restrooms have been built for men and women. The facility also features wheelchair access for disabled applicants and provides safe drinking water.
DG Nadra Sindh Amir Ali Khan mentioned that the renovation of five centers in Karachi has already been completed as part of a project to upgrade 21 centers across the city. He acknowledged the initial difficulties citizens faced with the new Nadra mobile app but emphasized that it will provide reliable long-term services once it is fully operational.
