The death toll from Tuesday’s powerful explosion on Sariab Road in Quetta has risen to 13, with at least 30 others injured, as confirmed by hospital officials.
The blast took place near Shahwani Stadium, shaking the busy area and sending rescue workers into a frantic effort to transport casualties to Civil Hospital Quetta. A hospital spokesperson stated that 13 bodies had been brought to the facility and that treatment was underway for dozens of the injured, with some in critical condition.
Government Launches Investigation
The Balochistan Home Department has ordered a formal inquiry into the incident. Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the attack, vowing that “the evil intentions of terrorists will be thwarted at all costs.”
Security forces cordoned off the site immediately after the explosion, and investigators have since collected evidence to determine the nature of the blast. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
