In a friendly match at Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar, Babar Azam delivered a commanding batting display for Peshawar Zalmi against the Pakistan Legends XI. Opening the innings for Zalmi, Babar faced former international bowlers, including Shoaib Akhtar and Waqar Younis, and provided his team with a solid start.
After Waqar Younis bowled a tight first over, Babar quickly capitalized on Shoaib Akhtar’s bowling. Akhtar, once known as the “Rawalpindi Express,” struggled with his pace and line, which was hampered by prior knee injuries. Babar took full advantage, hitting a six and two boundaries off a single over from him.
Babar appeared to be in complete control during the powerplay, scoring freely. However, he fell short of a half-century when he was dismissed by former off-spinner Saeed Ajmal in his first over. Ajmal bowled him to end his confident innings just short of a major milestone.
