Following a stay at Taylor Swift’s house during the California wildfires, Zoe Kravitz has humorously revealed she and her mother haven’t been back. The reason? A chaotic incident involving a snake named Orpheus, which led to some unexpected damage to Swift’s bathroom.
The Great Snake Escape
During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Kravitz explained that she and her mother, Lisa Bonet, had to stay at Swift’s home for about two weeks while evacuating from the wildfires. On the last day of their stay, Bonet’s pet snake, Orpheus, slipped into a small hole in the corner of Swift’s vintage bathroom, which was built in the 1930s.
In a panic, they called the house manager, who had to use a crowbar to “tear apart” a built-in banquette, ripping up tiles and scratching the walls in the frantic effort to retrieve the snake. Kravitz admitted they “completely destroyed” the bathroom. She then called Swift to explain, but Swift already knew, asking with a laugh, “Is it the fact that you almost lost a snake in the house and destroyed my bathroom?”
Still Friends, Just Not Houseguests
Despite the dramatic incident, their friendship seems to be intact. In a more recent interview with E! News, Kravitz was asked if she had been back to Swift’s house. She clarified, “No, but not ’cause I wasn’t invited. It’s just because I haven’t been in L.A.” Her co-star Austin Butler chimed in to clarify the point, to which Kravitz jokingly added, “No, I’m not allowed there anymore.”
