Helen Mirren recently revealed a hobby she shares with her ‘Thursday Murder Club’ co-star, Pierce Brosnan.
In a new interview with ‘Us Weekly’, the acclaimed actress discussed a shared interest she discovered with Brosnan. At the New York City premiere for the film, she said, “I like to garden a lot.”
She also added, “I like to swim in the sea.” Mirren then noted, “I like to paint a little bit, like my costar Pierce.” She clarified that while they both enjoy art, they have “never” actually painted together.
In the film adaptation of Richard Osman’s 2020 novel, Mirren plays a retired spy, while Brosnan stars as a retired union leader. The movie also features Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie.
Mirren went on to state that the film’s “great characters” are what truly elevate the plot. “The story obviously has to hold together and be intriguing for the audience,” she said, “but without really good characters, it really is meaningless.”
