In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, actress Jennifer Aniston shared some nostalgic behind-the-scenes stories from the set of the hit show Friends. She specifically reminisced about filming the memorable Thanksgiving episode, “The One Where Ross Got High.”
In this episode, Aniston’s character, Rachel, attempts to make a traditional English trifle but mistakenly combines the recipe with a shepherd’s pie. The result is a peculiar dessert with a layer of beef.
Aniston revealed that the cast found it almost impossible to get through the scene without laughing. She described the trifle as “ridiculous in the best way,” and explained that Matt LeBlanc (who played Joey) didn’t just pretend to eat the strange concoction—he actually ate it. The cast’s composure broke every time David Schwimmer (who played Ross) delivered the line, “It tastes like feet!” The moment of comedy was capped off with Joey’s now-iconic line, “What’s not to like? Custard? Good. Jam? Good. Meat? Gooood!”
Aniston concluded her thoughts by calling her time on the show one of the “greatest” and “the gift that keeps on giving,” saying it was one of the highlights of her life.
