Security sources revealed on Monday that India has launched a new clandestine military initiative, “Operation Mahadev,” designed to obscure its recent setbacks in the conflict with Pakistan.
According to sources who spoke to Geo News, the strategy involves reactivating deceptive engagement tactics and falsely branding unlawfully detained Pakistanis as cross-border terrorists.
Security sources indicate that the Indian military has commenced orchestrating deceptive operations under the banner of Operation Mahadev, following the unsuccessful outcome of its previous campaign, Operation Sindoor.
These fabricated encounters are part of a broader scheme aimed at suppressing the escalating independence movement in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and bolstering the political standing of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration.
The sources stated that Indian authorities intend to utilize Pakistani individuals already incarcerated in Indian prisons for these staged operations. Under this plan, detainees will be killed and subsequently declared as terrorists who infiltrated across the border.
Following the false flag operation in Pahalgam, Indian forces recommenced these encounters, with two Kashmiris reportedly martyred on April 24 after inadvertently crossing the border.
The sources further added that Indian media outlets have already been furnished with images and videos of the deceased and strategically placed weapons to corroborate these fabricated narratives.
Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry had previously disclosed the unlawful detention of 723 Pakistanis in Indian jails, a figure that includes 56 individuals forcibly held by Indian intelligence agencies.
The sources also mentioned that these same 56 individuals were referenced by the DG ISPR during his briefings on April 29 and 30.
He had cautioned that these illegally held individuals might be coerced into issuing anti-Pakistan statements or later falsely presented as deceased terrorists, thereby escalating India’s disinformation campaign.
India suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Pakistan in May, after Islamabad initiated Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos in response to India’s Operation Sindoor.
During the 87-hour confrontation, Pakistan successfully downed six of India’s fighter jets, including three Rafale aircraft, and numerous drones. The conflict between the two nuclear-armed nations concluded on May 10 with a ceasefire agreement facilitated by the United States.
