Heavy rainfall across Pakistan over the past 24 hours has resulted in the deaths of at least six people and injuries to five others. This brings the country’s total death toll from the ongoing monsoon spell to 258, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
On Thursday, the agency reported that three fatalities occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where five individuals also sustained injuries. Additionally, two people died in Islamabad and one person in Sindh due to rain-related incidents.

Tragic Incident at Babusar Top
One of the most heart-wrenching incidents took place at Babusar Top, where a cloudburst triggered a deadly flash flood. This tragic event swept away a family attempting to rescue a three-year-old boy, Abdul Hadi. Among the deceased was Dr. Mishal, who courageously jumped into the torrent to save the child.
The NDMA continues to closely monitor the situation and strongly advises the public to exercise caution and adhere to safety advisories throughout the ongoing monsoon season.

Body of Man Swept Away by Floodwater Recovered
In related news, rescue officials confirmed on Thursday that the body of one of the two people who were swept away into a drain of a housing society in Islamabad has been recovered.
The father-daughter duo was traveling in a car when they were caught in a storm drain by floodwater on Tuesday in the federal capital.
Rescue officials have confirmed the father’s body has been recovered, while a search operation is actively underway to locate the daughter.
The father had left his home in a grey car with his daughter at 8:15 AM on Tuesday to drop her off.
However, their vehicle came to a standstill due to accumulated rainwater.
A warning had been issued at that time regarding a cloudburst, and as soon as the vehicle left the house, it was swept away by the water and plunged into the storm drain, according to housing society officials.
For two days, rescuers diligently searched for the father-daughter duo, even discovering their car’s bonnet and door under the Soan River Bridge.
Two days prior, the bumper of the car and the side mirror were found by the rescue teams.
A widely circulated video on social media captured the distressing moment the vehicle drifted away in floodwater, leaving its occupants helpless.
