In the early hours of Wednesday, a gas pipeline that supplies natural gas to Punjab was blown up in the Wanda Ameer area of Lakki Marwat district.
The explosion, which occurred under the cover of darkness, was reportedly carried out by unidentified individuals. Residents reported that the blast was loud enough to be heard several kilometers away.
Soon after the explosion, a heavy contingent of police and officials from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) arrived at the site to assess the damage and secure the area.
Police officials stated that this particular pipeline has been targeted on multiple occasions previously. “This is not the first time this section of the pipeline has been blown up.”
