Superstar producer Mark Ronson recently engaged in a conversation with Will Manning on the EE Official Big Top 40, where he blind-ranked five of his most significant hits, including ‘Uptown Funk’ and his collaboration with Amy Winehouse, ‘Valerie’.
Surprisingly, neither the funk-genre track ‘Valerie’ nor the highly energetic ‘Uptown Funk’ claimed the top spot. Instead, Ronson’s work with RAYE on his latest single, ‘Suzanne,’ emerged as his number one choice.
After hearing the track, Ronson simply told Manning: “Number one.” He elaborated, “Because I’m changing the criteria each song, so now in this case, I was like, ‘which is one to five in chronological order of the newest? So that’s Suzanne.’”
Despite his playful tone, Ronson then confirmed ‘Suzanne’ as his genuinely legitimate favorite, stating, “It’s my favorite song I’ve ever made. Ever made. Ever.”
As he continued with the rankings, Ronson placed ‘Ooh Wee’ in fifth position, ‘Electricity’ in fourth, ‘Valerie’ in third, and ‘Uptown Funk’ as his second favorite.
Manning playfully teased the musician for appearing uncertain about his selections, commenting, “You wanted to move it around though; I can tell in your face… It’s done, it’s written!” Ronson replied, “It’s in, it’s in the books. It’s all I can do.”
For context, ‘Suzanne’ was released by Mark Ronson on June 13, 2025, in collaboration with RAYE, who earlier in 2025 won the BRIT Album of the Year and has been widely collaborating since.
