WhatsApp is set to revolutionize the user experience with an upcoming feature enabling effortless transitions between multiple accounts. In its latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.19.10.74 update, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform announced that this capability will be integrated into a new section within the settings page, providing users with a comprehensive overview of all registered accounts.
This dedicated section will prominently display each account’s profile picture and name, significantly streamlining the account-switching process. When a user selects a different account, WhatsApp will instantly switch to it, loading the specific chat history and applying the corresponding settings and preferences. These customizable settings will include notification tones, auto-download behavior, backup preferences, and more, ensuring a personalized experience for each account. Additionally, users will have the flexibility to add new accounts without risking the data of their existing ones.

Switching accounts will not necessitate logging out or restarting the app; the transition will occur instantaneously within the same session, allowing users to move seamlessly between profiles with just a tap. Furthermore, a brief confirmation message will appear at the bottom of the screen, signaling that the account switch has been successfully completed.
In this forthcoming update, should a message be received on a secondary account while the user is actively using the primary one, WhatsApp will display a specially formatted notification. This notification will clearly indicate the originating account by including its name, alongside the sender’s name, eliminating any potential confusion when managing multiple accounts. Tapping on such a notification will automatically trigger an account switch, directing the user straight to the relevant conversation within the correct account.
This feature will be particularly beneficial for users who manage more than one phone number and prefer not to rely on WhatsApp Business for a secondary account. With the increasing adoption of eSIM technology, especially on supported iPhone models that allow users to store and activate eight or more eSIMs as needed, this upcoming WhatsApp feature becomes especially valuable. However, this new feature is currently under development and is expected to be available in a future app update.
