China has strongly condemned the United States’ strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday. In a statement, the Chinese foreign ministry asserted that the attacks constitute a serious violation of the United Nations Charter.
“The actions of the U.S. seriously violate the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and international law, and have exacerbated tensions in the Middle East,” the statement read. China called on the parties to the conflict, especially Israel, to reach a ceasefire as soon as possible, ensure the safety of civilians, and commence dialogue and negotiation. “China stands ready to work with the international community to pool efforts together and uphold justice, and work for restoring peace and stability in the Middle East.”
Türkiye Condemns US Strikes
Türkiye has joined the international chorus condemning the US attacks on Iran. The Turkish Foreign Minister emphasized the need for dialogue to resolve the escalating dispute between the United States and Iran on the global stage. “All parties must act responsibly,” the minister added.
Russia Denounces Strikes as Breach of International Law
Russia has labeled the US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites a “flagrant” breach of international law. In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry declared: “The irresponsible decision to subject the territory of a sovereign state to missile and bomb attacks—regardless of the justification—blatantly violates international law, the United Nations Charter, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.” Moscow called for an end to aggression and urged renewed efforts to restore the situation through political and diplomatic means.
Spain Expresses Concern Over Escalating Tensions
Spain’s Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares Bueno, expressed deep concern over the rising tensions following the US strikes on Iran. Speaking to a broadcaster, Albares stated: “It is not a military solution that will bring peace and stability to the Middle East, but diplomacy. We therefore hope all parties will return to the negotiating table.”
