Israel has claimed responsibility for an airstrike that reportedly killed a senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), further escalating tensions in an already volatile region.
According to Israeli media reports, citing military sources, Amin Pourjodki (also spelled Amin For Judkhi)—who was said to be leading the second unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) unit within the IRGC’s Aerospace Force—was eliminated in a targeted airstrike conducted by the Israeli Air Force.
The strike reportedly occurred on Saturday, though neither the exact location nor additional operational details were immediately disclosed.
Israeli officials described Pourjodki as a key figure in Iran’s drone development and operations, accusing him of directing UAV activities that have posed threats to Israeli interests.
“The IDF confirms the elimination of Amin Pourjodki, a senior operative and commander of Iran’s second UAV unit within the Revolutionary Guards’ Aerospace Force,” an Israeli security official told local media. “His role in coordinating drone attacks and supplying UAV technology to Iranian proxies across the region made him a legitimate target.”
As of the time of this report, there has been no official response from Iranian authorities, and Pourjodki’s death has not been confirmed by Tehran.
