The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Saturday that the Pakistan Shaheens are scheduled to tour England after July this year.
While the cricket board did not provide specific details regarding the Shaheens’ tour to England, it did state that the squad would undergo a training camp in Karachi starting from July 10. This information was shared in a statement concerning the upcoming Skills Development camp, which is slated to commence at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) from June 16.
Consequently, the exact number of matches and the format in which the Shaheens will play during their England tour remain undisclosed. “Meanwhile, camp for Pakistan Shaheens ahead of their tour to England will commence in Karachi from 10 July,” the PCB’s statement confirmed. The cricket board further announced that the names of the shortlisted players for the Pakistan Shaheens would be revealed in due course.
This upcoming tour will mark the Shaheens’ first significant international engagement since their visit to Darwin, Australia, in August of last year. During their Darwin tour, the Shaheens participated in the Top End T20 series, which featured Big Bash League (BBL) teams Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers, as well as the Bangladesh High-Performance XI.
The Shaheens’ most recent appearances were in February when the PCB assembled three distinct teams to participate in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 warm-up matches. The first contingent of the Shaheens squad faced Afghanistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 14, securing a commanding 144-run victory. The remaining two matches, against South Africa and Bangladesh, were played simultaneously on February 17 in Karachi and Dubai, respectively. The Shaheens achieved mixed outcomes in these two fixtures: the team led by Mohammad Haris decisively defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets with 91 balls remaining, while the group captained by Mohammad Huraira suffered a three-wicket loss against South Africa, who subsequently advanced to the semi-finals of the eight-team tournament.
