According to a statement from the NA Secretariat on Sunday, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his Hajj visit and conveyed Pakistan’s gratitude for Riyadh’s ongoing support during “difficult times.” The Saudi Crown Prince hosted a luncheon for Muslim leaders performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia, which was also attended by Speaker Sadiq and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori.
The Crown Prince affirmed his dedication to addressing the challenges faced by the Muslim world. During his interaction, Sadiq emphasized that Saudi Arabia has consistently stood by Pakistan during challenging periods. He also expressed appreciation for the Kingdom’s leadership’s clear stance on matters concerning Pakistan. The NA Speaker voiced his hope for further strengthening bilateral ties between the two brotherly nations.
Governor Tessori, in an X post, stated, “I am deeply grateful to the Saudi leadership, especially the Crown Prince, for inviting me as a royal guest on the sacred journey of Hajj.” He praised the excellent arrangements for pilgrims and the services provided to the Muslim Ummah. Tessori also extended an invitation for the Saudi Crown Prince to visit Pakistan.
This event occurred two days after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s visit to the Kingdom. The Crown Prince personally received PM Shehbaz, who was on a two-day visit, and even drove him to the royal luncheon hosted in his honor at the Royal Court. The premier’s warm reception by the Saudi Crown Prince and his attendance at the luncheon as a special guest underscored the long-standing fraternal relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and Islamabad’s diplomatic successes under Prime Minister Shehbaz’s leadership.
