Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has embarked on a two-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following an invitation extended by Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman.
The visit, scheduled for June 5 and 6, coincides with the observance of Eid-ul-Adha, which the prime minister will celebrate within the Kingdom.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, a high-level delegation is accompanying Shehbaz Sharif on this significant diplomatic journey. The primary objective of the trip is to further strengthen the enduring brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
During his stay, Prime Minister Shehbaz will hold a meeting with Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman on the day of Eid-ul-Adha, extending his felicitations for the festival. The discussions are anticipated to focus on expanding bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, and strategic partnerships.
The two leaders are also expected to deliberate on issues concerning the welfare of the Muslim Ummah, alongside matters pertaining to regional peace and security, particularly in light of recent tensions observed in South Asia.
A notable aspect of the visit will be the prime minister’s expression of gratitude to the Saudi leadership for their diplomatic role in facilitating the de-escalation of recent hostilities between Pakistan and India.
