Die, My Love,” the forthcoming movie starring Jennifer Lawrence, has already garnered initial reactions from film critics.
The film is an adaptation of Ariana Harwicz’s 2017 novel of the same title. The ensemble cast includes Robert Pattinson, LaKeith Stanfield, Sissy Spacek, and Nick Nolte.
Following its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, Deadline commented, “America is well aware of Jennifer Lawrence’s talent, and this film could very well lead to a fifth Oscar nomination if handled strategically.”
The Guardian reviewed, “Lawrence delivers an exceptional performance as a woman whose bipolar disorder is intensified by her husband Robert Pattinson’s infidelity, under the masterful direction of Lynne Ramsay.”
Meanwhile, the BBC wrote, “Die My Love is a surreal, intense, and at times darkly humorous exploration of postpartum depression – although it initially seems as though it might delve into much more. Jennifer Lawrence shines brighter than ever as Grace.”
Furthermore, The Daily Beast lauded Jennifer’s acting, stating, “J. Law’s captivating performance in Die My Love is so compelling, expect to see her on the Oscar stage once again.”
Finally, Vanity Fair hailed Lawrence as “astonishing,” writing, “A sometimes reluctant movie star reminds us of her full power in this standout film from Cannes.”
Jennifer Lawrence’s “Die, My Love” was released on May 17th.
