Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received an official invitation on Friday to attend the inauguration ceremony of Pope Leo, the new spiritual leader of Catholic Christians, according to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Minister of State for Religious Affairs, Kheal Das Kohistani, and Punjab’s Minister for Minority Affairs, Ramesh Singh Arora, have also been invited to the ceremony.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed that both Kheal Das Kohistani and Ramesh Singh Arora will represent Pakistan at the event. The spokesperson added that the minister of state and the provincial minister are scheduled to depart for Vatican City today.
Pope Leo will become the 267th Pope and the supreme head of Catholics worldwide. The inauguration will take place on May 18 at Vatican City.
