Russia has welcomed the recent endeavors by Pakistan and India to de-escalate tensions, characterizing the move as a positive development for peace and stability in the region.
In an official statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry, Moscow conveyed strong support for the agreement reached between the two South Asian neighbors aimed at reducing hostilities and fostering dialogue. The ministry described the agreement as “a significant step forward” and expressed optimism that the measures implemented to normalize relations would be enduring and long-term.
“We welcome the easing of tensions between Pakistan and India and view the recent agreement as a constructive step towards regional stability,” the statement read.
Underscoring its long-standing support for peace initiatives in South Asia, the Russian Foreign Ministry reiterated Moscow’s backing for the resumption of direct talks between Islamabad and New Delhi. The ministry emphasized that substantive dialogue remains crucial for resolving outstanding disputes and preventing future confrontations.
