Pakistan’s military has issued a stern warning to India, making it unequivocally clear that any transgression of Pakistan’s territorial sovereignty will be met with a swift, resolute, and merciless response.
In a forceful interview with Sky News, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry asserted that Pakistan will not countenance any aggression from its eastern neighbor.
“Whoever attempts to violate our territory, integrity, and sovereignty – our response will be merciless,” cautioned the ISPR chief, emphasizing that both Pakistan and India are nuclear-armed states, and any serious provocation could precipitate catastrophic consequences for the region.
The military spokesperson further denounced India’s persistent tactic of attributing terrorism to Pakistan, labeling it a fabricated narrative intended to sow fear. “The world must not allow India to propagate fear by concocting a narrative of terrorism year after year,” he stated.
Addressing the long-standing Kashmir dispute, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s firm position that Kashmir is not an internal affair of India. “The Kashmir issue remains an unresolved aspect of the Partition agenda between Pakistan and India,” he underscored.
“It is a trilateral dispute involving Pakistan, India, and China, and its resolution must align with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the resolutions of the UN Security Council.”
The DG ISPR accused India of maintaining a substantial military presence in Kashmir under the false pretext of internal security, effectively harassing the local populace and denying their right to self-determination.
“There can be no peace between Pakistan and India until the Kashmir issue is resolved justly,” he affirmed.
General Sharif also voiced apprehension regarding India’s military posture and cautioned that any endeavor to initiate a war front against Pakistan would be disastrous for the entire region. “Countries like the United States are cognizant of the nuclear risk. We are fully aware of India’s intentions, and we are prepared,” he added.
Sky News reported that despite India’s numerical superiority in conventional forces, Pakistan has successfully maintained robust defense capabilities. The report also noted that Washington’s recent focus on the Kashmir issue has displeased New Delhi, characterizing it as a “real test” of the extent to which the US is willing to exert pressure on India.
