Thunderbolts actress John-Kamen has enthusiastically praised Florence Pugh and her leadership qualities during the making of the movie.
In her recent interview with Us Weekly, the 35-year-old actress discussed the off-screen camaraderie she shared with her fellow Thunderbolts cast members.
During the conversation, John, who portrays Ava Starr, also revealed that just as Florence’s character Yelena leads the team in the film, Florence “led” the cast in real life.
Speaking highly of the Little Women star, John-Kamen shared, “Honestly, she’s absolutely amazing.”
She further noted, “She really led [the] ship of this movie,” remarking, “She’s incredible and she’s so open.”
Florence’s dedication while playing Yelena Belova, a Black Widow, in the blockbuster can be further understood through her own words.
Revealing her personal experiences during the project, the actress penned a lengthy Instagram post.
She described this post as a “love letter to Thunderbolts” and to everyone who contributed to the film’s creation.
She began elaborating on her journey as Yelena by stating, “This is just my love letter to Thunderbolts* and to all the people that made it. This movie has had whispers since we shot Black Widow, 6 years ago now.”
Later in the post, she admitted to having built an “emotional connection” with the film, her character, and the backstory of Yelena.
