Former Pakistan fast bowler Tanvir Ahmed has raised doubts about Shadab Khan’s continued presence in the Pakistan national cricket team.
Sharing his views on his YouTube channel, Ahmed showered praise on Islamabad United batter Sahibzada Farhan, highlighting his consistent and impressive performances.
“The way Sahibzada Farhan is delivering consistent performances is truly exceptional. He [Sahibzada Farhan] has already notched up three centuries in the National T20 Cup, and in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, he has added another century along with a half-century to his name.”
“I would sincerely request the selectors to refrain from unfairly blaming Sahibzada Farhan for any perceived attitude issues,” Ahmed stated.
Ahmed also acknowledged Islamabad United’s overall strong performance against the Multan Sultans in a recent match. “United played outstanding cricket in that game. The bowlers, the batters, and the all-rounders – everyone stepped up and performed brilliantly,” he added.
“Jason Holder put in a fantastic performance,” he specifically mentioned.
Turning his attention to Multan Sultans spinner Usama Mir, Ahmed suggested a change in the national squad: “Usama Mir should definitely replace Shadab Khan in the national cricket team. Frankly, Shadab Khan is misleading everyone. He comes in to bat at number four in the PSL matches and manages to pick up a wicket or two.”
“Shadab seems to be deliberately creating an impression that he is the only leg-spinner who is also capable of batting effectively,” Ahmed opined.
Finally, commenting on Multan Sultans batter Usman Khan’s approach, Ahmed remarked: “I honestly cannot understand what Usman Khan is trying to do out there, as he seems determined to hit every single delivery he faces.”
