Three excise officials lost their lives in a tragic firing incident on the GT Road in the Taro Pabbi area of Nowshera early Sunday morning.
The attack, which occurred at approximately 2:00 AM, involved unknown assailants opening fire on the vehicle of an excise mobile squad.
According to police reports, two excise officials died at the scene, while another succumbed to injuries later. The suspects fled immediately after the attack, and authorities have launched a full-scale investigation to apprehend the perpetrators.
The police have registered a case against unidentified individuals, and efforts are underway to gather evidence and witness testimonies to aid the investigation.
The funeral prayers for the deceased officials were held at Police Line Peshawar. A police contingent presented a salute to the fallen officials, and floral tributes were laid in honor of their sacrifice.
Senior police and excise officers, along with colleagues who came to pay their respects, attended the funeral.
