Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts Apple’s first foldable iPhone will debut in late 2026, with production starting in the fourth quarter of that year. The device will feature a book-style design with a crease-free 7.8-inch main display and a 5.5-inch cover screen. A specialized, 3D-printed hinge combining stainless steel and titanium will be used. Notably, Apple will reportedly opt for Touch ID on the side power button instead of Face ID, allowing for a thin profile of 4.5-4.8mm unfolded and 9-9.5mm folded. The exterior will be titanium, and it will have a dual-lens rear camera setup, with front-facing cameras on both displays. Production is expected to begin in Q3 2025, with mass production in Q4 2026. Pricing is estimated between $2,000 and $2,500. Initial shipments are projected at 3-5 million units in 2026, with potential growth to 20 million in 2027. While Kuo’s predictions are often accurate, these details remain unconfirmed by Apple.
