Authorities in Oregon continued their search on Sunday for a 2-year-old boy who was last seen playing in a yard the previous day. Dane Paulsen was reported missing around 4:25 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Members of the sheriff’s office, along with fire and police agencies, conducted searches of the property and surrounding areas on Saturday, both on foot and using drones equipped with thermal imaging technology, the sheriff’s office stated in a social media release. On Sunday, search and rescue teams carried out systematic searches of an area north of the small city of Siletz, near the Siletz River, utilizing drones, search dogs, and watercraft, the sheriff’s office reported. Volunteers who wished to assist were asked to remain outside of the primary search zone. A late 1990s gold station wagon, observed near the residence where Dane was last seen, has been identified as a “vehicle of interest” in the investigation, the sheriff’s office disclosed. However, Sheriff Adam Shanks informed KATU-TV that there is no evidence to suggest the vehicle was directly connected to Dane’s disappearance.
