Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Abu Dhabi for a two-day official visit where he will participate in the World Governments Summit (WGS).
This marks the second visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since assuming office in March 2024.
Upon arrival in the UAE, the Prime Minister held meetings with Emirati officials and was also scheduled to meet with both Pakistani and Emirati business figures.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will deliver a keynote address at the WGS in Dubai, where he will highlight Pakistan’s vision for inclusive economic growth, digital transformation, and governance reforms.
“The summit will bring together heads of state/government, global policymakers, and leading private sector figures to discuss the future of governance, innovation, and international cooperation,” said a Foreign Office spokesperson in a statement a day earlier.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and other key members of the cabinet, which reflects Pakistan’s strong commitment to deepening its engagement with the UAE and other global partners.
The Prime Minister will also hold bilateral meetings with UAE leadership and engage with heads of state from participating countries and leading CEOs of multinational companies.
“Pakistan and the UAE share a deep-rooted brotherly relationship based on mutual trust, understanding, and long-standing mutually beneficial cooperation,” the spokesperson added.
“The Prime Minister’s visit underscores Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to further strengthening its ties with the UAE, fostering greater economic collaboration, and exploring new avenues of partnership for mutual prosperity,” the statement concluded.
