Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal condemned the opposition’s claims of electoral rigging, labeling them as fabricated and baseless.
Expressing his thoughts, Iqbal said, “Such allegations are being made through the creation of false forms, aimed at undermining the credibility of the current government.”
He added, “If an inexperienced person runs a country, an accident is bound to occur.”
Iqbal questioned, “How has the country been pushed into inflation and unemployment?”
He claimed, “There is no project associated with the opposition’s leadership that has marked true success. Whenever the PML-N has been in power, the country’s development has resumed.”
Halt in Development After 2018 Elections
The minister highlighted that after the 2018 elections, the projects initiated by PML-N were abandoned by the new government, leading to a halt in the country’s development.
Iqbal stated that the public decisively rejected the enemies of progress in the last elections, with voters opting for continued development. He added, “The noise about rigging is unfounded; the lion always works for the development of the country.”
Questions on Opposition’s Track Record
Iqbal questioned the opposition’s track record during their four years in power, asking, “What did they do for Pakistan?”
He further criticized the opposition for failing to fulfill their promises, stating, “Did they even create 100,000 jobs, let alone one crore?”
Spread of Falsehoods on Social Media
The minister lamented the destruction of political discourse due to the spread of falsehoods on social media and likened the opposition’s tactics to a drama. He said, “PTI’s political reality is zero. We do politics of action, not social media.” He accused the opposition of presenting fake images to portray successful rallies, calling it a charade.
Opposition’s Discomfort with Pakistan’s Progress
Iqbal continued, “Claims of rigging are made through fabricated forms, and they are uncomfortable because Pakistan is on the path to development.” He questioned, “Why are they bothered by Pakistan’s progress?”
He concluded, “How can such people rebel against their own nation?” and assured the public that they had become wise to the opposition’s lies and would not be misled.
