The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony on Tuesday announced the final costs for both the long and short Hajj packages for the year 2025.
This development came after the signing of the annual Hajj agreement between Islamabad and Riyadh, aimed at providing the best facilities for Pakistani pilgrims.
Under the agreement, 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims will perform Hajj this year. It was also agreed to offer the best facilities to the Pakistani pilgrims, with special accommodation in Mina available at reduced rates.
A spokesperson for the religious ministry stated that the final cost for the long and short Hajj packages has been set at Rs1,075,000 and Rs1,150,000, respectively.
The spokesperson added that the third installment of Hajj dues will be collected from February 1 to 10.
According to the ministry, a few seats under the government Hajj scheme are still available, and these will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis by January 30.
New applications will only be accepted for the long Hajj package, as booking for the short Hajj package has already been completed.
The spokesperson further mentioned that the booking process for private Hajj pilgrims will continue until the end of this month.
‘84,620 Applications Received Under Regular Scheme’
According to a ministry official, as of January 18, only 1,380 seats under the government’s regular scheme remain, for which applications, along with Rs600,000 as the first two installments, will be received.
The government had started accepting applications for the remaining 4,500 seats under the regular scheme from January 10, on a first-come, first-served basis through designated banks.
The religious ministry had also written to private Hajj operators seeking approval for Hajj packages priced over Rs3 million.
