The Oppo Find N5, thinner than a pencil, aims to redefine the standards for foldable phones.
Oppo is gearing up to make a significant impact in the smartphone industry with its upcoming Find N5, which will be the world’s thinnest foldable phone.
At just 3.5–4mm thick when unfolded, the Find N5 will outshine the current titleholder, the Honor Magic V3, which measures 4.35mm.
Teased by Oppo’s Chief Product Officer Pete Lau on Weibo, the Find N5’s ultra-slim design makes it thinner than a standard pencil, setting a new benchmark for foldable devices. The phone is expected to feature a titanium alloy hinge for enhanced durability despite its slim profile.
Although Oppo has not revealed the full specifications, leaks suggest the Find N5 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and will come with a 5,900mAh battery, offering 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support. The device is also rumored to feature a triple 50MP rear camera setup, ensuring exceptional photography.
While the Find N5 is set to launch in China, Oppo’s history of rebranding its foldable phones for global markets raises the possibility of a OnePlus Open 2 launch for international consumers.
Foldable phones are generally bulkier than traditional smartphones, making thinness a crucial feature. With the Find N5, Oppo aims to offer the large-screen benefits of a foldable without compromising on pocketability.
