Sports journalist Imran Sohail expressed hope on Wednesday that Pakistan will dominate the West Indies in the forthcoming Test series, scheduled to take place from January 17 in Multan.
Speaking exclusively on Samaa Digital programme “Zor Ka Jor,” Sohail said, “Yesterday, both Aaqib Javed and Aleem Dar visited the Multan Cricket Stadium to review the preparations. When they [Aaqib Javed and Aleem Dar] previously visited Multan against England, they sounded the alarm for the visitors.”
“So the West Indies will definitely remain cautious about the red-ball series against the Green Shirts,” Sohail added.
“Sources have told that Aaqib Javed had asked the grounds staff to remove the grass from the Multan wicket and turn on the fans,” he continued.
“All three spinners, Abrar Ahmed, Sajid Khan, and Noman Ali, had decent practice yesterday to brace for the West Indies challenge,” Sohail said.
He maintained, “All three spinners will play tomorrow. Otherwise, two will definitely play.”
“Hopefully, we will get the match result within four days or maybe even earlier,” Sohail said.
He mentioned, “Definitely, the pitch will help the spinners due to the dry conditions. But it will be interesting to see how our batters respond.”
Sohail believed that batters who play on the front foot will survive on the wicket, considering the potential conditions in Multan.
