Faisal Vawda has claimed that a major government scandal will surface on January 22, potentially disrupting the administration.
Speaking on Samaa TV’s program Nadeem Malik Live, the former federal minister stated, “I am personally involved in this matter and am committed to preventing it. If it cannot be stopped, a case will be filed, and if the government uses force, it will face imprisonment.”
Regarding the £190 million case, Vawda said, “Former Prime Minister Imran Khan could face consequences. The date may change, but the verdict will remain the same,” he asserted.
Vawda revealed that he had raised objections to the issue during a cabinet meeting four years ago. “I even discussed it on this show at the time,” he told Nadeem Malik.
He alleged that Khan’s spouse and close associates benefited from the decision, which he described as a wrongful act approved by the former prime minister.
“The former PM could face 10 to 14 years of imprisonment,” Vawda claimed.
Admitting the broader implications, he said, “The entire cabinet, including myself, cannot claim innocence. If accountability is necessary, it should apply to all.”
Meanwhile, PML-N leader Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha described the £190 million case as an “open-and-shut” matter, accusing the PTI government of misusing and concealing funds. “Lawful cabinet decisions are protected, but illegal ones are not,” he said.
